I will go so far as to say that, IMHO, it could happen at any time now (IF the genetic modifications done in the first round of ZF GMs was sufficient to be capable of accomplishing that). OTOH it might not be until October if what was done in the second round was necessary for the achievement of pure spider silk.

However, whether it is pure spider silk or not, the results from the first round should be significant news and indications of real progress.

We are very close now but don't know exactly how close.
