Something isn't adding up to me at this point. They couldn't go to the salt flats, partially because of the $20,000 expense of hauling the streamliner there, but now I read that they are going to haul it up to Michigan for the steam club get-together just a month later. Another thing printed, was that Harry couldn't take time off work, with all that is going on at Cyclone, to go to the salt flats.. Like I said before, if the engine ran, and the work at Cyclone was that important, Harry could have stayed in Florida, and flew out when the pictures needed to be taken, and flown right back after Chuk set the record. No fuss no muss! I'd bet my big wide posterior, that Harry will be up there in Michigan with his steam club friends if the streamliner is going to be there, work or no work. I get a sense that maybe the engine wasn't going to be done in time for Speed Week at Bonneville. Or that they only had enough money for one trip somewhere, and investors wanting an August Bonneville record, after 3 years of stock stagnancy did not come into play if there was only room for one trip at this time.. God I wish they would quit making promises they have no intention of keeping.. If you say you are going to Bonneville in August to try for a record, then by God do it!
Oh that's right the dyno broke... It was pointed out on the steam forum that there are chasis dynos all over southern Fla that could handle 200mph corvettes, so running our car in another shop for testing shouldn't have been a problem if our was dyno was broke.. I also noticed Chuk went to the Bonneville speed trials anyway... I get a feeling there has been a little truth stretching here.. I'm still hanging on long, by a thread, but tired of the chain yanking and stuff that doesn't pass the sniff test.. If work on the car had to be delayed because Raytheon needed something done, then fine.. If the engine doesn't run yet, or the if the time to finish the car was underestimated, then fine, I can live with it... But don't talk out of both sides of your mouth and come up with fake excuses that my grandkids could see through!
What the heck is the purpose of hauling the car to Michigan if it was too expensive to go to Bonneville? Ego I guess.. Show it off to your buddies and let investors sit on their thumbs a while longer.. Just bring 10 X 12 glossy pictures of it, to Michigan, to show it off, if you are trying to save money... There aren't any Reuters or ESPN cameras up there like at SpeedWeek..
And I also wonder, if NASA said OK you can do your car testing this Friday, if the streamliner could be ready to run, or if it would end up being too cloudy or something...
OK I'm done with my monthly rant! LOL! Good luck to all as usual... Keep your eyes wide open and your nose to the wind!!! grajekk

Hope the tractor company I just invested in doesn't give me the gray hair Cyclone has over the last few years..
