So now we know the kryron armor plates stopping .50 cal or .50 cal AP rounds are made as vehicle shields to work with existing steel panels. The same must have been in Dugway a demonstation for vehicle/personnel protection.

As others have pointed out, the impact from .50 cal would break bones and crush the tissues of a person even if the bullet did not penetrate the armor plate.

Naples was still impressive - fat boy stopped the .50 cal AP rounds - even though some penetrated the backplate. The rounds were stopped and trapped in the plate.
