Here is twenty of them, all in the same clustersmile
each group of 512 cpu's has 1TB of memory


Last I heard the plan was to reconfigure some or all
of those 20 512P single image nodes into 2048P single
image nodes with 4TB each. The Altix hardware *can*
do the whole shebang as a 10240P 20TB single image
but SGI has been growing their officially supported
single image configuration size gradually to allow
them to tune up Linux as they go. NASA has been a
lead customer in this process.

One of the SGI types who posts at RWT said it was
pretty cool the first time he malloc'd a 2TB chunk of
memory in his test code. :-P
