GM Tina, you truly now have a Pack of Dogs now. Do you see 1 of them as being the Alpha yet ?? I found out the hard way, that it was Jayda, because of 3 fights she has had.
Jayda's first fight was with Jacki our Weimaraner, and it was totally my fault. I was handing out their food, and for some reason Jacki was not aware I was doing this. I placed Jacki's bowl down in the kitchen where she eats, became distracted, Jayda began eating from Jacki's bowl. When Jacki realized something was going on, and saw Jayda eating in "her spot," the fight was on.
The other 2 fights were with Jadya ( the Alpha ) and Breezy, on our deck. What caused it ???
I use to go to the Butcher and buy Thigh ( Femur ) Bones, but later realized, as I saw Teeth and growling going on, that that was no longer a good idea to give them. Even if I place them in separate rooms, the time could come, that I would make a mistake, and forget to gather all the bones, or get distracted and forget one of them. The same goes for Rawhide. The dog's view that as type of food.
I would reconsider you giving those to them. I would hate to hear one of the twins ( Chi weenie's ) got injured, or even Ziva and Aldo getting into it. You or your family members could get seriously hurt, trying to break up a fight between 2 really big dog's.
As a Pack owner, I have been thru it, and your dog's will not be any different. Bones and Rawhide, they "will" view as a food item.
In our Pack, Turner is the " gatherer of things." Anytime I am looking for a missing shoe or flip-flops, all I have to do is go to Chance's crate. For some reason Turner has made that his place to "stash stuff." A few months back I found a $5 dollar bill, and 2 singles, but mostly shoes of different types, and Toy's.
I just now looked under my computer desk, and noticed one of my Tennis Shoes are missing, went to the crate, and there it is, way in the back.
A couple of days ago, I was in my room changing from sweat pants, to shorts. I took off my yellow Adidas flip flops, by the time I was slipping on my shorts, I saw Turner taking the last Adidas, and walking slowly to his Dad's crate with it. Again, Turner always' puts these things way in the very back, so I have to get on all 4's and crawl in....LOL
