Master, doesn't it concern you when the VIX soars and 50 point swings on the Dow happens in seconds?

Last time I've seen these crazy swings was in 2008. I remember the dow being down 300 pts and up 350 pts within a commercial break (650 pt swings) and then closing even. Wouldn't it be wiser to be shorting and buying back during these past couple of weeks and going forward?
