You were right about one thing: I cannot point to a patent that claims a URL containing an index - at NeoMedia or any other company. Since that URL structure has been around since the beginnings of the internet, I am not it sure could be done today. Internet address were IP indexes so both www.CNN.com and 64.236.16.84 both resolve to CNN. However, you will note in the re-exam, that Barkume differentiates an index from any addressing system.
The entire topic does not matter unless NeoMedia, or anyone else, has such a patent.
