diamond: NeoMedia has very accurate statistics on the use of NeoReader. They can tell how many downloads, how many deletions, how many scans, percent of scans that are native, percent of scans by foreign campaign manager, some scratchy geodemographics, etc.

Laura has complained about the industry not releasing numbers and then says she can't release numbers. I can say I know of one campaign manager who has publicly released numbers to The Nielsen Company for a reported $10M. So it is not just good public policy, it is good business.

Almost every barcode is encoded with information about the campaign manager. With direct encoding on a NeoSphere, you see neom in the URL string. Even if someone uses indirect, you can tell by the string sequence and length. It is kind of like telling the difference between a UPC and an EAN. I haven't seen an indirect code in a long time so I can't remember NeoMedia encoding sequence for indirect. It is something like 8 characters with 7 prefix.
