Interesting news on Toyota and Telsa.

Wednesday 20 July

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) has confirmed the release of an
electric Rav4 for 2012.
Reports have been around for a while saying that Toyota Motor
Corporation (NYSE:TM) will introduce an electric version of Rav4, and
the largest car maker has been largely silent until now.

According to an official statement from the company, the electric
version of the Rav4, the small SUV, will go on sale for the public
next year.

The concept had previously been shown at the Los Angeles auto show.

Thursday 21 July

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) has entered into a part supply
agreement with Tesla Motors.
Under this new deal worth $100 million, Tesla Motors will supply
electric powertrains system for the upcoming electric RAV4 sport-
utility vehicle by Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM).

The powertrains system consists of charging systems, inverters,
motors, gearboxes and associated software.

According to Tesla, “Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM), which
previously agreed to pay Tesla $60 million to develop lithium-ion
batteries and motors for use in an all- electric RAV4 sport-utility
vehicle, is paying the additional funds for packs and motors for the
vehicle that goes into production next year.”

GO MMTE!
