here is a recent Chess960 (also called "Fischer Random Chess") game that I won......note the start position of the pieces.....opening book memorization is sort of minimized in this kind of game!!!
(this variant is called 960 because that is the number of possible start positions!!!!):
The random setup forces players to resort to talent and creativity rather than the possibility of obtaining an advantage through the memorization of opening moves.
