snowblow5: You're right, "reinvention of the wheel", so to speak, is the essence of progress and that's exactly what NEOM's done in the case of advertising. This was unheard of 15 years ago.

Regarding buying the patents, the only way MSFT would be able to buy the patents that NeoMedia owns would be to buyout NeoMedia themselves because they sure as heck won't sell them to anybody because they are the key to their whole future regarding linking the physical world to the internet. But, NeoMedia will gladly LICENSE them the use of their patented technology, and it appears that's exactly what they intend on doing.
