The added "D" was "NEW ISSUE" as seen here on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticker_symbol

It is a letter code, added to the end of the ticker symbol, that keeps investors informed to changes etc. having to do with a company.
Without counting I believe the "D" was added for a period of 30 days.
