success622: I was thinking the same thing in regard to the limited scope of existing keywords being tied to only the particular service that the keyword is registered to. There's no "standard" registry service, per say.

What I see as the kicker in the whole WordRegistry is who is behind it...SAIC. If it were only NeoMedia, I honestly don't think it would have the punch, even thought they do hold the patents.

But since the world and the US gov't know very well of SAIC, their past accomplishments and current endevours, it would seem to me that the SAIC "sponsored" WordRegistry will instantly become the norm and be given instant "gravitas" as to the validity and importance of it's value.

We know that P&G will most likely have a very large # of words registered, but I'm curious to see how and if Virgin plans on integrating the WordRegisty in w/ their anticipated Time's Square launch of their "new" Megastore. Might that be part of their "new way" introducing products to customers before the sale?? (or however they put it).
