When my son was about 6 years old he ran a 300 meter race at a school track and field outing. He practiced all week for the event and tried very hard the day of the race to win. He gave it his best., but he didn’t win or even earn a ribbon. I think he came in 5th or 6th . When he came over to me and started crying, because he didn’t get anything for his effort, I explained that only the first three runners receive ribbons. He said he thought everyone should get a ribbon just for entering the race. I said to him that if everyone got a ribbon just for running then no one would try their best to win. Some people wouldn’t try at all, they would just walk to the end. Most people need a reason, a reward, to make them do their best. Some don’t, but most do. I told him about this country where everyone made almost the same amount of money for their jobs even if their work was terrible or they were not really needed. Soon, most of the people were drunk, lazy, and couldn’t care less about being productive. Why should they, they were paid the same no matter what. After awhile, pretty much nothing got done and the whole country fell apart. The point of this story is; SHOW ME THE MONEY, MEET A DEADLINE, FINISH SOMETHING YOU STARTED, THEN GET A REWARD.
This is not a non-profit organization. I am not in this to fund their more than modest lifestyles and endless studies that almost never seem to have an end or any results that are made public. Do I have to reiterate the countless trials that were started who’s results were never revealed. What about the time-lines, are they pure fiction? Do they have any correlation with reality? The only thing real about them is that I can see them, they change, and they are never met. Why are they constantly shifting attention to new projects? Is it some kind of corporate shell game to make the old stockholders forget about the unfinished projects, or is to attract new stockholders to replace the investors who have sold? I don’t want to hear the crap about selling if I don’t like the company. I have sold most of my position. I will hold my current position because the science that has been done so far holds so much promise. But, this is not a charity. Make that science profitable if you want to be rewarded. No matter how hard you try, there are no ribbons if you don‘t win the race.
