Arixtra is very much simpler than Lovenox; it has no animal feedstock and is 100% synthetic. Arixtra is somewhat harder to make than a typical small-molecule drug, but reverse-engineering the branded product to make an FDA-approvable generic is a piece of cake compared to such generic drugs as Lovenox and Copaxone.
