The "placebo effect" is broader and far more nuanced than just a patient's state of mind.

By definition, the placebo effect refers to any improvement that is not attributable to the investigational treatment. So it includes a variety of factors. My point is that even studies with more "objective" measurements are subject to the placebo effect.
