Yea, it's easy to say that he (Jerry) should have went for it after the fact, but in my opinion, his caddie helped put him in perfect position, on the green less than 20 feet needing a 2 putt for the win. His nerves just got the better of him. You could actually see the putter head shaking during the putt. In the playoff he had about a 6 footer for birdie to stay alive and basically it was the same thing, it wasn't even close.

And again, in the interview after the match, Jerry took 100% of the blame and didn't try and put it on his caddie, he just said that he should have went for it. I really think that ugly shot that you refered to, played on their minds, and played into the decision to lay up. I mean you definately wouldn't want to do that on Sunday needing par to win. Plus, the fairway on 18 slopes toward the water and every shot is played with the ball below your feet.
