I think the guy's just doing his job. In a small town like this, job news is big news, so when a potential big job supplier (as Kakani advertised Pristine) provides hype and hope but then fails to deliver, well, people want to know what happened. I seriously doubt there's some conspiracy here--just a guy reporting the news that needs reporting.
