It may significantly hurt the renewable energy market. If I remember correctly the plans for one of PSPW's Italian solar ventures were cancelled due to the government subsidy being greatly reduced.
Most renewable energy is government subsidized, and the general public has been readily aggreable to that subsidy, especially in Europe, but the available funding may dry up if a countrys budget shrinks dramatically. Germany appears to be all in for renewables so that will be a new market, and that is the one country in Europe on solid financial ground, but that being said they are actually supporting almost all of Europe, for much longer remains to be seen.
It is a country by country proposition, Italy, Spain , Portugal, Ireland, will probably not have funding available(PIGS).
France, Germany, ok. Albania, our lost forgotten Albania, they are in the process of trying to sell the hydro concessions to private companies, but that damn Rudana cloud has muddied up that forecast.
All of the above is my own uninformed opinion.
