PDOS has bounced from it's 5 year low of $.011 on 6/7/2011. It now looks to have the catalyst it needs positive momentum and gains, as we head closer to the summer blockbuster opening of their licensed property "Cowboys and Aliens" on July 29th, 2011. Not many know about this hidden gem. This is a unique opportunity to be involved on the ground floor near all time lows

Platinum Studios is an entertainment rights company that controls a library of more than 5,000 comic book characters. "Cowboys & Aliens" is just one of the properties Platinum Studios controls among their multi-universe library of over 5,000 comic characters. While other large comics-based libraries are already spoken for, Platinum Studios remains independent of major entertainment studio affiliation. Marvel was acquired by Disney for $4 Billion, and is the second major comic library to be acquired by a Hollywood studio after DC Comics, which is owned by Warner Bros.

The feature film version of the original "Cowboys & Aliens" graphic novel, starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, directed by Jon Favreau ("Iron Man 1 & 2"), executive produced by Steven Spielberg and produced by Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Rosenberg will be released in North America on July 29, 2011 via DreamWorks and Universal Pictures with Paramount Pictures handling the international release of the picture. The company is currently in the process of licensing it's intellectual property rights of "Cowboys and Aliens" through other ventures as well such as merchandising and gaming. Platinum has licensed its top-selling "Cowboys & Aliens" graphic novel to Gameloft, a leading global publisher of digital and social games, to produce the video game. Launching in July 2011, coinciding with the release of the new film by Paramount Pictures, the game will allow players to relive their favorite graphic novel adventure and fight against the alien invasion to protect the human race. It is believed licensing for toys may be next.

Merchandise Licensing Industry

Toy Industry approximately $21 billion dollars a year in revenue. A quarter of that revenue comes from licensed toys, based on movies, television, cartoon, and comic book characters According to the NRF Foundation, retail sales preliminarily rose 5.7 percent in November and December 2010 to $462 billion, surpassing the agency’s initial forecast of 3.3 percent, representing the best sales gain since 2004. Industry wide sales of entertainment-related toys have risen 38% since 2004, while regular toy sales fell 14%. Hasbro and rival Mattel control a combined 35% of the U.S toy market and are the only manufacturers with a large international footprint.

This is not CEO Scott Rosenberg's first rodeo either. Rosenberg started Malibu Comics before he sold the company to Marvel comics in 1994. Scott was the driving force behind the "Men In Black" franchise reaching the big screen. Men In Black was a Malibu Comics property.

Book Value

In June of 2008 Sanli Pastore & Hill, Inc., determined the fair market value and fair value of a 100% equity interest of the intellectual property held and controlled by Platinum Studios, Inc., That valuation report totaled $150,038,000 and is located here: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1410132/000114420408036070/v117862_ex99-1.htm

Platinum Platinum does have some debt on the books. However, $8,949,207 of that debt on the books is from their recently released movie Dead of Night which Platinum did not finance but did carry the subsidiary, thus that debt will be coming off the books as monies come in from distribution. From the 10Q - http://www.otcmarkets.com/edgar/GetFilingHtml?FilingID=7953046

As of March 31, 2011 and December 31, 2010, all of the investment in film library of $8,949,207 and $9,449,207, respectively, is related to the “Dead of Night” production, a completed film and is net of amortization of $500,000 and $0, respectively. The film was released theatrically in Italy on March 16, 2011 and in the US on April 29, 2011. During the three months ended March 31, 2011, the Company recognized $500,000 of revenue upon the release of the film in one of the territories, and recognized a corresponding charge to cost of sales for the same amount. The balance of the remaining ultimate revenues are in foreign territories where the film has been made available and the exploitation period begins upon US theatrical release and therefore, the remaining unamortized cost of $8,949,207 should be principally amortized during 2011.

Platinum Studios is just now beginning to get their projects on the big screen after years of working to get them there. It is evidence by the current price per share and the current market cap of approximately $8 Million dollars which is miniscule compared to the valuation report on their properties from 2008. Their Intellectual Property library has grown since 2008 as well.

See Platinum Studios Chart below:
