Definitely a pump and dump in my opinion, and my track record on detecting biopharmaceutical scams is pretty good.

La Jolla PC has no plausible drug candidate, just a pre-clinical candiadate that hasn't even emerged from a simple animal screen yet.

Even if it did (and I expect a PR any day now saying it did) that would still be only worth a few thousands of dollars, or tens of thousands of dollars, at a real stretch.

The additional presence of:

an overhang of a 5.9 billion shares in the AS (give or take a few million,

combined with a "management" who've already ferociously diluted the O/S in the past couple of months,

combined with the sudden attention and devotion of some of the usual suspects associated with such scams busy posting baseless cheerleading and spreading unsubstantiated rumors about acquisition etc. all over <ahem> the Internet, tells me all I need to know.

It's a pump and dump, no question about it.
