Death:
He IS doom and gloom. He says we are in a many year ("8-20") secular bear market. He also says that there will be cyclical bull markets within it. We just had a 55%, 29 month cyclical bull. It may not be over, but if he is correct in everything else he is saying, it aint far from it. But, even if it goes another 15% and another 6 months, that doesn't change the fact that he says we are in a secular bear market for some number of years - at least. That means many severe drops from where we are today. The ONLY issue is timing. That is not misreading him. That is exactly what he has said.
Sure, he is optimistic about the NEAR TERM. But ask him what the pull back will be when the cyclical bull ends! The average crashes between cyclical bulls is about -35%. Now, if he abandons his secular bear theory, then that is a different matter, but I haven't seen any evidence of that.
I didn't invent the secular bear market theory and I don't know who did. But, I subscribed to it because Brinker (right or wrong) convinced me of it.
