I thought I would bring this over here, it'll last longer
HI all, I thought i would drop in and write a holiday season message. The title of my post is the title off my new favorite CD (yes, I ACTUALLY purchased a cd) The newest Dixie CHicks. I was actually quite proud that this cd wasn't a bunch of pop crap like some other country acts have done after getting some mainstream popularity. Anyways back on topic.
I have had a lovely break, seen 4 fantabulous movies in a row, been to Nebraska, got some spiffy presents, and enjoyed my at home friends.
Shopping was good, and I got mine out of the way so I didn't get into too much rage inducing traffic. I got to babysit my CUTE twin nephews (5 months) a bunch. My family has called me a baby hog since I was a kid so I enjoy them even when they are fussy, and I swear they think I'm their favorite aunt <G>
I got some lovely gifts, silk pajamas from my man was probly my favorite. I also got some good deals with my shopping money (that's one of my presents every year because I like shopping and never get to do it) including a cool 6 piece dish set from an antique store in Nebraska.
Flyng was ok, but let me just give some advice, if any of you are ever scheduled to fly into Kansas City Airport and don't have too, CHANGE YOUR PLANS. The layout makes security impossibly slow and inefficient, and not they are going to have to completely remodel the airport, so you are facing inefficiency and construction, run away.
New years was oodles of fun. We tried to watch the special edition Monty Python DVD with such special features as "How to use your coconuts; an education film", the HOly Grail in Japanese (holy sake cup), and MP in Lego. But Drinking game won out. I being the good hostess and on call DD drank Red BUll (an energy drink) and Mnt. Dew. It has some fun side effects for a non-alchoholic drink. Oh and if any of you ever want a good drinking game that only requires a deck of cards just ask.
Let's see, The movies were (in order of viewing)Star Trek~ I hope they make another, I am a closet trek fan. (who ISN'T attracted to Capt. Picard?)
LOTR 2 Towers~ EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST, I want to go see it again, because A) it was great and 2) I think Gangs of NY will ruin my good movie streak.
Two Weeks Notice~ What can I say Sandra Bullock (sp?) is hilarious and I love Hugh Grant, it was good
Catch Me if you Can~ LEo, ToM, Spielberg, and a true story to boot, good fun
Anyways, Happy New Year, what's your resolution?
