There arent really rules. If you lose a half million you go bye bye. If you make 5 million betting on pennies, you get recognition. everybody wants the big office so it's as cut throat as anywhere. The more boutique agencys are pretty hands off. They hire good people and let it rip. Its not like they have a pork belly desk at hedge funds. I wouldn't be surprised if there was someone within a hedge fund involved in the trading.
