Demonstrations of Kryron as body armor:

Many posters are apparently relying on demonstrations of Kryron body armor as being proof that BORK is or will be worth a lot of money.

The demonstrations (and claims) all appear to be in comparison to ceramic body armor and NOT in comparison to current non-ceramic body armor.

The “law enforcement” people involved in the Kryron “demonstrations” appear to only be aware of ceramic body armor even though various non-ceramic body armor products have been certified by the NIJ as meeting the various threat levels.

The Kryron plates used in the demonstrations appear to be much smaller than the standard 10” x 12” plate required for effective body protection. The Kryron 10” x 12” plate tested by the ballistics laboratory weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces whereas several (perhaps all) non-ceramic 10” x 12” plates certified by NIJ weigh about half as much. (one is 3.9 pounds, another was 4.7 pounds).

I suspect that the “law enforcement” people present at the Kryron demonstrations did not check to see how much the tested Kryron plates actually weighed versus similar sized NIJ certified non-ceramic plates. Two plates that are NIJ certified could perhaps be put together and weigh about the same as a Kryron plate of the same size.
