Many Thanks to my respondents - Your excellent explanations of gap-filling dynamics make everything as clear as .... mud. Think I'll stick with Boyle's Vacuum myself which is about as nonsensical as the myth itself. Curious how often it happens when there can be no plausible reason for it. Makes one wonder who's in charge of things around here, don't it? Are the MM computers programmed to tell each other - "Wait now, This bucket's got a hole in it! Until it's mended no-one get's more Beer ..." Oh well, just so long as we don't need to go back to fill .0 to .05!
