FWIW, I spoke with the guy that is doing the videos. They are a series of surveillance system videos from a system designed by HSCC/ONYX. They show the compression capabilities of ONYX VIDEOCRUNCH. They are able to take a normal surveillance video and compress it at unheard of levels not available anywhere else. He said 500 to 1 is easily attainable without any degradation. He said he can compress at rates of over 10,000 to 1. Seems unbelievable doesn't it. What they do is compare it to the industry standard H.264 which looks like crap when decompressed if there is any movement. We will be able to see side by side comparisons when it comes out on the web. The ONYX VIDEOCRUNCH far exceeds the new H.265 standard that is supposed to come out next year. This is high level military Predator stuff.

What does it mean and uses? Huge savings in storage of data Huge increases in quality of surveillance video. HD surveillance video could become standard. Means more cameras on any given network because they will be able to handle much much more data and store it.

See the surveillance video of the lady crashing her car into the guy at the convenience store. All jerky because not many frames like time lapse. That will be a thing of the past. Imagine HD surveillance video just like your big screen ESPN game.

That PR yesterday was clearly written by Dave. He does this stock more harm than anything. Biggest Problem I see right now is no one knows about this technology, what it can do and what it is worth.
