Job Description
Momenta Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is looking for a dedicated, Ph.D. level biologist for our R&D Drug Discovery program.? We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in investigating complex disease phenotypes using a combination of in vivo and in vitro approaches and the coordinated use of such approaches in both a discovery and translational research setting.

Candidate requirements
Ph.D. in biology, cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, or bioengineering plus 3-5 years relative laboratory experience (post Ph.D.) preferably in a biotech/biopharmaceutical setting or in a leading academic center and with a particular focus on drug discovery and development.
Broadly trained biologist is preferred but we would also consider a strong candidate with more directed experience with respect to investigating heterotypic biology in a particular tissue, e.g., bone, liver, or GI.
Highly proficient in the design, execution, and analyses of in vivo animal studies (primarily rodent) inclusive of writing appropriate protocols.
Proven experience in biological assay development using both established and primary cell lines is absolutely required.
Direct experience in methods for cellular, biochemical, and genetic profiling of cells is desirable.? Examples include multiplex cytokine analyses, qPCR, cell and genetic array technologies.
Expertise in high content screening, immunohistology methods, multiple microscopy platforms (e.g., phase contrast, confocal, and/or fluorescence microscopy), and flow cytometry highly preferred.
Strong background in growth factor, cytokine biology, extracellular matrix interactions, and/or cell surface signaling a plus.
