If AIG was not made to pay Goldman 100% on the dollar like some other institutions we would be talking About Goldman being to big to fail. Many of the fortune 500 pensions funds are insured by AIG. the Treasury knew Aig was the only one that could sustain this kind of hit and still be viable therefore they made them bail out everyone else.
