I was actually discussing that with a friend the other day. I'm getting away from facebook as well, but that is more for employment/professionalism issues. But we were talking about the type of spam and everything else that goes with it. people don't like it. Its almost the equivalent of Facebook selling your information in my opinion. Maybe its just me getting older but I don't like all my personal info being out there and I think most are starting to see the downside of it.

But the other thing I think is going on with facebook is that it has been the top dog for too long and that it is no longer "cool". Just as myspace got dethroned by facebook, it is facebook's turn to take its fall from glory. Every industry has it. For example Apple versus Microsoft. When one is hot the other is not. when one gets overexposed from popularity it starts to lose its appeal, and so went myspace years ago, and so goes facebook in the near future (less than 18 months IMO).

I pose a question and am interested to hear what everyone's thoughts are as well. When facebook has its fall from glory (be it tomorrow or 10 years from now) who will come out on top? Do you think its going to be a constant back and forth between Myspace and facebook similar to the back and forth battle between Apple/Mac and Microsoft/Windows? or do you think there will be a new guy on the block that picks up facebook's slack? How do you see VVoIP playing out in all of it? Just interested in what people think about that.
