Dredging Question because I'm just an average Joe with no experience getting anyting out of a river other than a few fish.

In the video, and I've seen it discussed here as well, they have taken off the top sluice so that they can get as much black sands as possible.

Does that mean that some gold and all the diamonds are being missed and left to go back into the river? I don't understand that because at the same time they are saying that they are recovering visible gold. Is that what gets caught in the traps in the dredge and am I right that the diamonds and other gold that is finer than the traps can catch but not flour gold is being pumped back into the river? I can see a lot of water being pumped out the back end of the dredge.

I'm NOT saying that would be a bad thing because it sounds like the black sands are worth more than the extra gold we would be getting, and besides, the gold isn't really going anywhere. We can always redredge again in a year or two and capture more then.

I'm looking forward to THE GOOD STUFF!
