I've used td, zecco, scottrade, etrade and others over the past 12 years and etrade is consistently the best ranked IMO. However I still use other brokers when etrade restricts buying or sometimes though very rarely, their web interface becomes slow and certain features become unavailable.

Hands down etrade has the best iPhone app too, which I cannot live without since I day trade on the go :)

For new accounts, you can trade free for 30 or 90 days, depending on the promotions with etrade, just FYI.
