If you're wondering whether the tweaks SFIO is making to improve the RE/AL will require changes to the patent, that's not likely. Their patent is general enough to allow for a wide variation in the specific product, while maintaining intellectual property of the general idea. IMO the tweaks SFIO is making are more along the lines of tuning of the microprocessor, placement of parts, and filter issues. All of those would be fine...
