The employees that I've talked with are 1000% behind John's plan, calling both the team and plan "Brilliant". They also expressed the need for a few more 'worker bees' to help keep up with 'paperwork' and some of the day to day 'stuff'.
For him to expand quickly is likely more difficult than we understand, especially when one factors in John B's need to bring on board individuals that have the skills along with his needing people that he can trust with the proprietary information. . . from what I also understand the schedule he keeps, as does his current team, they are having difficult being in one spot long enough to do what is needed.
I suspect in the short term the 'plan' to ramp up is likely through sub-tier contractor and suppliers, rather than do it in house for the time being. This is easier, requires fewer out of pocket dollars required, and is quicker to initiate/expand production. It must be done correctly and 'quietly', however. Having been through this sort of process, there can be some major 'pit falls' if the right companies are not brought in. . .
