Samsung doesn’t make GDDR3 with 350 MHz clock?

I never said that, Elixe. Even if they list from 500 MHz up (I did not check this time), I can well imagine they will run OK at 350 MHz. I have the feeling though that much of the advantage of GDDR3 is getting lost if you are running at speeds like DDR2.

But maybe Samsung is selling their rejects for this applicationwink

Obviously for 22.4 GBps only 700Mbps data rate was required.

Assuming that bandwidth is a magic number they needed and nothing more... Maybe they had a well working design for 38.4 GBps at 256 bits and just decided to derate it for Xbox. (el cheapo solution now and upward mobility later)

Depending on the application the burst length can be programmed to 1, 2, 4 or 8.
In my application the core speed is 100 MHz and the Bandwidth is 800 MBps.

Hmm saturday night trick questions? I would think one would need 8 times 8 bits, i.e. 64 bits (for the 1 bursts).

Anyway, at the end of the day maybe they like to have that upside bandwidth room for the Xbox ??

Cheers
Cor
