The original Itanium was late and much slower than advertised when it finally came out (800MHz vs 1GHz). Mckinley missed its speed targets as well (1GHz vs 1.3-1.5GHz).

Wrong. Merced was originally a 600 Mhz design in 0.25
um. When it was moved to 0.18 um its target frequency
was increased to 800 MHz which it achieved when it was
released. McKinley never targeted 1.3 to 1.5 GHz as
you claim. Care to explain how an 8 pipeline stage
0.18 um processor was going to hit 1.5 GHz when the
much narrower issue Willamette needed 20 stages to
ultimately hit 2.0 GHz in the same process?

Do you really believe the incredible BS you spread here
or do you consider blatant lying and misrepresentation
in support of personal causes acceptable?
