Mack Sanders is CEO of Evcarco, a green dealership organization that is set to blanket the U.S. with retail establishments. Typical of the new breed of green car entrepreneurs, he is driven, focused, and dedicated. Sanders spent two decades in the industry, and sees the current economic climate as ideal for branding the green dealerships here and abroad.

Starting out slowly, the company hopes to have about a dozen dealerships up and running within the next year. One challenge he and his staff faced early on was the inherently unstable nature of micro manufacturing entities. Of the first eight that Evcarco dealt with during the planning stages, only two are still in existence. As a result, Sanders looked to some of the more established, government sponsored companies overseas. He considers China’s Foton Motor Company a good find. Foton’s MD 3000 is a natural gas truck that, in fact, looks to be Evcarco’s biggest selling item from day one.

Foton and Evcarco are a perfect match. Sanders and his team have the marketing template in place here in the U.S., while Foton boasts a nearly unlimited production capability of a popular alternative fuel vehicle. If the paradigm takes off, look for China’s Foton trucks to hit American streets in late 2011. Sander’s touts the truck’s money saving potential for businesses that use it. Compared to diesel and gasoline, natural gas trucks cost 50% less to operate, last longer, and emit almost no carbon.

Sanders thinks that the inevitable ongoing increases in world oil prices, combined with typical fuel price volatility, will be a big boost to his business. If the timing is not perfect right now, he asks, when will it be?

Evcarco is but one of many green vehicle entrepreneurs that are permanently changing the face of American automobile marketing.
