You should realize that a lot of exploration work can occur in the dead of winter. Drilling, geophysical work, etc.

Work that cannot be done include soil and rock sampling, and trenching.

A lot of work gets done during the Canadian winter and on the island getting work done, such as drilling and geophysical work avoids the prolonged mud season! That is when it is a challenge to get anything done!
