Advanced ID Receives Order from New York Department of Agriculture
Thursday May 19, 9:00 am ET

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 2005--Advanced ID Corporation (OTCBB:AIDO - News), a complete solutions provider in the radio frequency identification (RFID) and traceability market for the animal industry, is pleased to announce the participation of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to trial the company's RFID technology to aid the government's effort to eradicate Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in captive cervids. Funding for the pilot project to evaluate this technology comes from the United States Department of Agriculture through a cooperative agreement.

In March 2005, the State Department of Agriculture and Markets announced New York's first positive case of CWD in a white-tailed doe from a captive herd in Oneida County, with four additional deer also confirmed positive in April 2005. CWD is a transmissible disease that affects the brain and central nervous system of deer and elk. The State Department of Agriculture and Markets monitors the health and movement of all captive deer and elk for the presence of common livestock diseases, including CWD. In July 2004, the Department initiated the CWD Enhanced Surveillance and Monitoring Program, which requires captive deer and elk herd owners to take various actions, including routine sampling and testing, animal identification and an annual herd inventory.

Dr. Jeffry Huse, Program Manager for the Chronic Wasting Disease Program in New York, stated, "As part of the CWD Certification Program, we need to confirm the identification of each captive animal on an annual basis. We have experience with low frequency (LF) RFID technology in cattle but the amount of restraint necessary to read those tags makes them difficult to use on many of our deer farms. We are excited about trialing Advanced ID's ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID technology which is reported to offer significantly longer read ranges. A longer read range will allow us to conduct our annual inventory counts more efficiently while minimizing animal stress."

Barry Bennett, President and CEO of Advanced ID Corporation, commented, "In addition to our RFID products offering longer read ranges, our technology provides the ability to read multiple tags thereby reducing the time required to perform inventory counts, or any other application involving animal processing, identification or verification."
