Grinch,,,I pretty much do the same way,,,however in place of macd I use the +DMI/-DMI with the ADX each being set up as diff indicators. When the +DMI and ADX touch,,,very powerfull if ADX above 40. The short is alerted when the -DMI touches ADX.

When they get close I look for a nice down day to enter when possible and many times it will recover the same day.
