Even if the company has real assets or profits, you don't own them and will never see them. That's the problem. It's not just the fact that the company is a small fraction of the claimed size. It's also the fact that your ownership of the company's profits depends on a VIE structure in a communist country. A VIE structure in China is meaningless unless the CEO, out of the goodness of his own heart, chooses to comply with it. Chinese courts have already ruled such structures to be null and void.

Do you think the CEO is going to honor your interests out of the goodness of his own heart? LOL. He has already shown you his hand. This was never about you, it was about him, it's no longer in his interests to play along with this silly little stunt, which is what it was from the get-go. The secret is out, time to move on.

With BIDU, the VIE structure is less dangerous because you have solid corporate governance. Even if shareholders do not ultimately have an enforceable claim to the profits, there is the perception that management--led by the very well-respected Yanhong Li--will respect agreements and honor investor interests.

CCME pays no dividends, never will. There will be no liquidation of assets to US shareholders. So from an intrinsic value perspective, the stock is worthless. It is worth what some bottom fishing casino player will pay you for it, right now, around a dollar. Soon, much less.
