Is there a way to tell the total number of shares shorted as of today (or any day)? I've seen links like this before, but...It would seem that shorting from here, while it could be very advantageous and devastate the pps if done with force (although today for the first time in a long time the bid stack nearly equaled the ask stack)...yet how many shares would they be able to get back at the lower price they drove it to? ESPECIALLY if news came out...it's a gamble all around. Plenty of reasons to believe, but also reasons to think it's either not going to plan or just a very, very slow process, and the delay doesn't give much reason to suspect big things soon...but shorts (I can only hope) could stand to lose a fortune at this time.
