A teenage driver who died following a two-car accident in Coweta County late Friday night was possibly texting before the crash, according to her sister.
Georgia State Patrol Lt. Paul Cosper said a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Taylor Brooke McKee, 16, of Roopville ran a red light and struck the driver’s side a 1993 Honda Civic that had exited Interstate 85 and pulled onto Bullsboro Drive just before midnight. The driver of the Civic, 29-year-old Linda Devora Leflore was turning left on a green light to go east on Bullsboro Drive when she was hit by McKee, who was traveling west. McKee and Leflore, 29, were both killed.
Two passengers in McKee’s vehicle, Amber Harrison, 16, and Elyssa Jordan, 15, were injured. All three teens, who were heading home from Newnan, were students at Central High School. McKee had just completed her sophomore year.

Kaitlyn Dunaway, 18, of Rohnert Park was distracted by her texting when her Honda struck Calli Murray as the girl walked hand-in-hand with her mother across Snyder Lane at Medical Center Drive at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, prosecutors said Monday.

DRIVERS can cover more than 80m without looking at the road if they spend just five seconds sending a text message while travelling at 60km/h, a top researcher warns.
The sobering figure comes with the government poised to order a sweeping audit of NSW road statistics following revelations that almost 40 per cent of all crashes involving mobile phones result in serious injury or death.
Two cyclists - first-time dad Jason Stortz, 39, and father-of-three Graham Denton, 52 - have been killed in separate incidents by drivers who were allegedly texting at the time.
RTA crash statistics obtained by The Daily Telegraph reveal at least four other fatalities on NSW roads involved mobile phones in the past decade, including the death of another cyclist in 2006.
Of the 301 crashes since 2000 in which mobile phones were found to be a contributing factor, 120 resulted in serious injury or death.
