i've been reading the "engagement letter" sent to briscoe from MLV... near the end of section 2B, check this out:

http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1172178/000108503711000169/ex10-1.htm

...if a Strategic Event involves a Company Candidate (please see Annex B, “Company Candidate List”, then MLV shall be entitled to fifty percent (50%) of the Success Fee as described in this paragraph 2(b).

in all other cases, they'd be getting a smaller cut. that tells me the "company candidates", kept confidential in the filing, are ones MLV is bringing to the table. otherwise, why would they charge a premium? oh, and who might those companies be?

just a wild guess, but usually these firms like to keep things "in house". who better to buy us out than one of the very large companies MLV has already got in their camp?

i see names on there like "goldcorp" (39.9B market cap), "kinross" (18.3B market cap), both of which could swallow us whole and not even dent their working capital.

but the list could be far larger, and contain all sorts of big board names. my point is this: we can rest assured MLV wants the same thing we do: a giant payday. and i doubt they'll waste much time making that happen.
