I repeat again that I hate to see AMD giving the stuff away at these prices.

..doesn't know why P4s are more expensive, and just assumes they "must be better"

Educated Buyers..
..will obviously choose an AMD64 processor whereever they can
( unless they are INTC Longs of course )

AMD continues to annoy me intensly on this!
AMD continues to make their image look like "second best" by maintaining these low prices.
AMD should be seling Athlon64s at a premium over P4s !
Sheesh - Marketing 101 !

Educated Buyers..
..will have no problems at all paying more because they "know they're better"

I would like to see AMD put an average 40$ premium across the board on their prices.
15$ on the low end to 65$ on the high end.
This would increase AMD's ASPs by 40$
.. x 7 mio. CPUs
.. = 280 mio. more profit per quarter.

If AMD continues to UNDERSELL their products, their image won't change in the OEM-Desktop and Consumer market-space.( I'm OK with the server market ASPs )
