Phrantic, I don't really think Dell was in any danger of being on the hit list from WL. Dell is an OEM machine builder/seller, basically hardware/system vendor. I don't believe they write any programs. I may be wrong but the guys who are going to get hit with demand letters are the ones writing the software. Dell only buys the right to include that software on their products. So, let's say Microsoft gets a demand letter to cease and desist, Dell would then be notified by Microsoft that they could no longer put certain pieces of the Microsoft program on their machines. (more simply done with a software update by MS). But Dell would not be held liable since they licensed from MS in good faith.
The Dell deal is a good thing, for many reasons. Don't get me wrong I like that deal. It was a big score for WL. But I don't think Dell was in any real danger. AIMHO, of course!

I like mentally jousting with you Phrantic. Your smarter than the average bear! (or should I say bull?) LOL
As always, opposing opinions are welcome! GLTA
