Years back I had a 80 year old retired machinist friend who made jet engine parts for a living. In his basement machine shop he and another friend came up with the idea to invent a light weight scaffolding pole to replace the very heavy scaffoling used in construction. To this day those light weight poles are shipped all over the country. Out of a basement came the idea, so it could happen here too IMO.
