well this can happen for a few different reason. Almost always after a nice run without any major consolidation. Stocks are easily driven down after big gains by shorters and profit takers. Once the people shorting the stock get the price to break short term support levels, it creates panic from buyers at the current highs. Once this happens the shorters just watch it fall and continue to sell into the panic causing more turmoil. Notice that its on low volume because most investors are familiar with the action, the only ones getting scared out are amatures and people with weak hands and or people who are just trying to limit there losses. Once the bottom is in, the people who are short will cover there position(buy back in) and cause the price to rise again.
