Hi gail,

I love crabs too being from Maryland.

We make it almost like your recipe but instead of bread crumbs, we use finely crumbled up saltine crackers. Also add a little Worcestershire sauce and mustard for a little bit of a kick.

I live in NC now and the crabs here stink. I was told by a crabber that's because our crabbing season starts earlier so the premium crabs are caught and sent up to MD and we're stuck with what's left over until the Northerners crabbing season is into full swing but by that time all the big guys are already gone :(

My step sis who's a retired state police officer makes some of the best crab cakes and has a business where she ships them on dry ice.
