i also have scottrade, and what im saying is if you drop a personal check off at a local branch (if there is one, which i assume there is) the money is NOT restricted. Money Direct deposits are restricted. check out the link on the "my account" tab that says "Learn more about restricted funds", you'll see that person checks arent held for 3 days, just the money direct
